LAS VEGAS (AP) — Las Vegas police say a collision between a vehicle and a scooter has left one man dead.
Authorities say the incident happened Saturday around 6:15 p.m. at the intersection of Charleston Boulevard and Windermere Drive.
According to evidence and witnesses, the JMSTAR scooter was heading eastbound on Charleston when a Honda Civic going westbound made a left turn in the path of the scooter.
Investigators say the scooter rider made an evasive maneuver to avoid hitting the Honda but struck the right side of it.
The 34-year-old man riding the scooter was critically injured and later pronounced dead at a hospital.
The 60-year-old female driver remained at the scene.
Investigators do not believe driving impairment was involved.
Police say this is the 75th traffic-related fatality in Las Vegas this year.
