RIVERDALE, Ill. (AP) — Authorities say they've found four bodies in the garage of a suburban Chicago home owned by a man who had been repeatedly ordered to stop running a funeral business out of his house.

Illinois State Police said Thursday that autopsies are being conducted on the bodies, which were in various stages of composition at the home in Riverdale.

The homeowner, Anton Godfrey, died late last month. Investigators say he had been improperly storing bodies in his garage in preparation for burial.

The Cook County Medical Examiner's Office found the bodies Wednesday night, along with a container of what appeared to be human organs and a box of cremated remains.
