WASHINGTON TERRACE, Utah (AP) — Authorities say two teenage boys in northern Utah stole a truck and fled from the owner before smashing into two other cars and landing the truck on its side.
Weber County Sheriff's officials say in a news release that the 13-year-old boys stole the truck Monday morning in Washington Terrace after seeing the keys inside the vehicle. The truck's owner heard the truck start up and followed them in a friend's car.
With the boys stuck in traffic, the owner jumped in the bed of the truck while one of the boys fled on foot.
The chase ended about two miles from where it started when the truck struck two other cars, landing on its side and ejecting the owner.
Nobody suffered life-threatening injuries.
Authorities say the teens face multiple charges in juvenile court.
