NEW YORK, Jul 16, 2006 (UPI via COMTEX) -- J.K. Rowling, author of the "Harry Potter" books, and her family plan to be vacationing soon in the celebrity-laden area of the Hamptons in New York.
The Times of London reported that Rowling's family will spend two weeks in August in a $55,000-a-week mansion in the Long Island resort surrounded by celebrities such as Sean "Diddy" Combs and actor Robert DeNiro.
"She will be able to disappear," local estate agent Gary DePersia said of the British author's plans. "There are so many stars here that being famous just becomes totally normal."
The 40-year-old Rowling will be joined by her husband Neil Murray and their three children, Mackenzie, David, and Jessica.
A representative for the author, who also has a charity book-signing in New York at the time of her vacation, declined to comment on Rowling's plans for a break, The Times said.
