FOX LAKE, Ill. (AP) — Bloodhounds with their noses to the ground and officers in helicopters are part of the manhunt for three suspects wanted for the fatal shooting of a police officer in Fox Lake, Illinois. That's about 55 miles northwest of Chicago. An official says the officer was stripped of his gun. Lt. Charles Gliniewicz (GLIHN'-us-wihtz) was known in Fox Lake as "GI Joe," and had four sons.

NEW YORK (AP) — This is a dip day for the recent stocks see-saw on Wall street. Continued anxiety about China's economy has sparked another big sell-off. No part of the market was spared. All 10 sectors of the S&P 500 fell more than 2 percent, with just three stocks closing higher. The Dow lost 469 points.

WASHINGTON (AP) — The State Department says Secretary of State John Kerry is sending a letter to all members of Congress that defends the Iran nuclear deal and lists U.S. security commitments to Israel and the Gulf Arab states. Officials say the letter will also attack false claims about what the international agreement will do.

UNITED NATIONS (AP) — A new United Nations report says Gaza could be "uninhabitable" in less than five years if current economic trends continue. The report cites eight years of an economic blockage by Israel and Egypt and three wars. Last year's conflict displaced half a million people and left parts of Gaza destroyed. Gaza is controlled by the Islamic militant group Hamas.

NEW YORK (AP) — Never mind finding out that you've arrived at McDonald's minutes too late for breakfast. The chain says its breakfast menu will be available all day starting Oct. 6. Items like Egg McMuffins, hotcakes and hash browns will be available anytime, although the exact menu will vary in different markets. It's an effort to boost sales that have fallen for seven straight quarters.
