AKRON, Ohio (AP) — An Ohio man has pleaded guilty to stabbing his son to death for trying to evict him for stealing money for drugs.

Fifty-three-year-old Kevin Golec entered the plea Monday in Akron ahead of his trial on aggravated murder charges in the death of 22-year-old Brian Golec at his son's Akron home Feb. 13. He was subsequently sentenced to 15 years to life in prison.

Brian Golec invited his father to live with him after finding out that he had been living in a truck. But authorities say Brian Golec asked Kevin Golec to leave his home when he found out his father had stolen money to buy drugs.

Golec's attorney called it a difficult case and said he hopes the family receives some closure.
