LAS VEGAS (AP) — Las Vegas police are investigating a crash involving a pickup truck and a pedestrian who was badly hurt on a busy stretch of Boulder Highway.

Officer Larry Hadfield says a woman was taken to Sunrise Hospital & Medical Center with life-threatening injuries after the 3 p.m. Thursday crash just north of U.S. 95.

Hadfield says the pickup driver wasn't reported to have been hurt, and remained at the scene.

Traffic is snarled in the area. Hadfield says northbound Boulder Highway will remain closed at U.S. 95 while police investigate.

The names of the pedestrian and driver weren't immediately made public.
