PERRYVILLE, Mo. (AP) — A southeast Missouri school board has censured a member for sexist and crude comments allegedly made to a female member of the board.
The Perry County School Board in Perryville voted 4-3 in a special meeting Tuesday to censure Mark Gremaud. He was accused of telling member Kathy Carron during a recent closed meeting, "Kathy, you are just a woman," then making crude comments to her.
The Southeast Missourian reports that Gremaud denies making that exact comment, and denies addressing Carron by name.
Carron called it a "blatant attack" against women in general. She says that is especially concerning given the number of women employed by the school district.
