PROVO, Utah (AP) — The Utah Highway Patrol has released the names of the two people who died in a head-on crash on a mountain road southeast of Provo.

The Provo Daily Herald reports (http://bit.ly/1LeJd3k ) that 38-year-old Heather Jacobsen and 7-year-old Broc Jacobsen, both of Cleveland, Utah, were killed in the Saturday crash in the Spanish Fork Canyon on Highway 6 near Thistle.

They were killed when the Dodge pickup they were riding in collided with a Dodge Intrepid passenger car. UHP Trooper Evan Kirby says a preliminary investigation shows the driver of the car did not yield the right of way at the intersection.

The pickup truck was towing a horse trailer at the time of the accident. The trailer rolled down a ravine after the crash.
