OLD BRIDGE, N.J. (AP) — An 8-year-old boy fell from a second-story window during a game of hide-and-seek, sending him to a hospital, police said.

The child sustained a head injury and was flown to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick on Thursday, NJ.com reported (http://bit.ly/1TBsRsN ) Friday. His condition was not immediately available Friday morning, but police said he was expected to survive.

The boy was hiding behind window blinds inside a bathroom at an Old Bridge home, police said.

"His 11-year-old brother went to tag him and pushed a little too hard," police Capt. Robert Bonfante said.

The 8-year-old went through the screen and landed on a shingled overhang. He then rolled off and hit the concrete sidewalk headfirst.

Bonfante said the children's mother was home at the time and police were immediately called.

He said charges were not expected.

"The kids were just playing," he said. "It was an accident."
