While the Utah defense has had a great deal of success under Kyle Whittingham, there have been talented players for a long time. There have been stars on the defensive line and in the secondary as well as plenty of talented linebackers. There have been all-conference selections, players of the year and some All-Americans. This list ranks the best of the best of those players from the last 50 years.
Here is my list of the best defensive players in Utah history.
Note: These rankings are based on what each player did at Utah. No other parts of each player's career was taken into consideration. It is also important to note that defensive stats weren't officially recognized by the NCAA until 2000, so some stats may be incomplete.
