SPARKS, Nev. (AP) — The Nevada Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal crash on U.S. Interstate 80 about 20 miles east of Reno near the Derby Dam.
The patrol says one man was killed in single-vehicle rollover about 8:15 a.m. Thursday a half mile east of the exit for the dam.
No other vehicles were involved.
The patrol says the driver of a Suzuki Sidekick was the only occupant. He was taken by Care Flight to a Reno hospital where he later died. His name has not been released.
One eastbound lane of I-80 was temporarily closed for several hours but had reopened before noon.
The cause of the crash has not been determined.
