LAS VEGAS (AP) — Las Vegas police showed a body camera recording of the fatal shooting of a 24-year-old man who investigators say wielded a crescent wrench and screwdriver as he lunged from a closet toward officers investigating a neighborhood vandalism complaint. Abel Correa was killed Friday in a home where his mother had a court order to keep him away.

RENO, Nev. (AP) — The Reno Council is poised to award its fourth and final medical marijuana dispensary license to an anonymous company. The Reno Gazette-Journal reports the city has chosen to award the final license to the fourth-ranked business, which is refusing to allow its name to be released. The company's identity will be released when it applies for the license.

CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) — A major new campaign to promote college savings in Nevada will feature a cartoon desert tortoise named "Sage" and TV commercials developed by a former Pixar animator. The Nevada Treasurer's Office plans to kick off its promotional blitz Aug. 20 to coincide with back-to-school season.

LAS VEGAS (AP) — A thankful Las Vegas-area cardiac patient is marking the one-year anniversary of his resuscitation by visiting firefighter-paramedics who treated him and calling for people to learn CPR. Fifty-eight-year-old Paul Davies arranged today's visit to show his appreciation to firefighters at Clark County Fire Station 19. Davies has agreed to tell his story to help educate the public about heart disease and the value of knowing CPR.
