LAS VEGAS (AP) — The downtown Las Vegas performers who by night are more recognizable as rocker Paul Stanley of KISS, a Blues Brother, late musician Rick James or a showgirl say they're concerned about a city of Las Vegas effort reining in where they can perform on Fremont Street. The city is expected to consider the proposal Sept. 2.

LAS VEGAS (AP) — Gov. Brian Sandoval says he'll appoint someone to replace former Clark County Commissioner Tom Collins before Sept. 1. The Republican governor announced his timeline a day after Collins suddenly resigned his post with more than a year left in his term. Collins' two-sentence resignation letter said he was leaving because of family matters over the next few months that would affect his ability to serve his constituents.

LAS VEGAS (AP) — Police in Las Vegas say a body found near a freeway airport interchange south of McCarran International Airport may be an Asian tourist reported missing during the weekend from a Las Vegas Strip resort. A positive identification wasn't immediately made by the Clark County coroner. Police Officer Michael Rodriguez said investigators were checking whether the body is 84-year-old Thuoc Dong.

BOULDER CITY, Nev. (AP) — The National Park Service says rangers and helicopters are searching for a Henderson man who was reported missing after his boat was found unoccupied at Lake Mead. A Lake Mead National Recreation Area spokeswoman says the 67-year-old man set out to go fishing Monday morning at Callville Bay. The 17-foot BassCat boat was found floating more than 12 hours later in the Virgin Basin, and was recovered by rangers.
