LAS VEGAS (AP) — A 28-year-old woman has been arrested in an apparent home invasion stabbing death of an 84-year-old woman whose bloody body was found last week in the living room of a Las Vegas home.

Margarita Balandova was arrested Thursday and held without bail at the Clark County jail pending an initial court appearance in the slaying of 84-year-old Mary Luebeck.

It wasn't immediately clear if Balandova had a lawyer.

Authorities say Luebeck was found dead July 29 in a home where back door glass was smashed in a neighborhood not far from Desert Inn Road and Decatur Boulevard.

That's southwest of the Las Vegas Strip.

The Clark County coroner says Luebeck died of stab wounds to the head, neck and chest.

Police didn't immediately disclose a motive for the slaying.
