PEORIA, Ill. (AP) — Bradley University trustees say they have four finalists who they will interview to be the private Peoria school's next president.

The (Peoria) Journal Star reports (http://bit.ly/1VRo9pu ) that university spokeswoman Renee Charles says the board of trustees hopes to name a new president by September. But Charles calls that a "quite aggressive" timeline and it's possible there won't be a new president until the second half of the fall semester.

The head of the presidential search committee says the names were culled from a short list of 14 candidates.

The new president would replace Joanne Glasser, who retired in May. Interim President Stan Liberty has been overseeing the school.

University officials didn't identify the finalists.
