HILDALE, Utah (AP) — Police say a teenager in Hildale tried to escape an intoxication bust by stealing the police car and driving it while handcuffed. KUTV-TV reports that police from Colorado City, Arizona, responding to a noise complaint in Hildale early Sunday two men. Officers moved one person's handcuffs to the front after he said he needed to use the bathroom. But somehow the suspect drove off, reaching speeds of more than 120 mph. He and another man are being held.

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — An 18-year-old woman convicted in a 50-mile crime spree that left Utah County sheriff's Sgt. Cory Wride dead is asking for her conviction to be thrown out, arguing the judge in the case was biased. Lawyers for Meagan Grunwald say Provo Judge Darold McDade made biased comments at sentencing. Her attorney Douglas Thompson declined yesterday to identify specific statements.

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — The co-founder of one of Utah's largest ski resorts has died. A spokesman says that Snowbird co-founded Richard "Dick" Bass died of pulmonary fibrosis Sunday at his home in Dallas. He was 85. Snowbird says Bass co-founded the resort in 1971 with Ted Johnson. Bass owned Snowbird until last year, when he sold it to Ian Cumming, a Wyoming businessman whose family owns a other Utah ski areas.

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — The biting satirical musical that mocks Mormons is finally coming to the heart of Mormonlandia, starting a two-week run at a Salt Lake City theater two blocks from the church's flagship temple. This will mark the first time the show's gleefully naive missionaries come to Utah, where about two-thirds of the state's residents are estimated to be Mormon.
