BOISE, Idaho (AP) — The Idaho Attorney General's Office is now investigating a former custom boat maker who moved to upstate New York to open a new business, leaving behind unfinished boats and multiple lawsuits. The Idaho Statesman reports that Christopher Bohnenkamp launched a new endeavor — a tour company called Niagara Jet Adventures, in Niagara County, N.Y. — even as he faces lawsuits from disgruntled customers and companies trying to collect on unpaid bills.
TWIN FALLS, Idaho (AP) — A former College of Southern Idaho employee has been sentenced to at least 10 years in prison after embezzling more than $530,000 from the college. The Times-News reports Dawn Orr pleaded guilty to five counts of felony grand theft in March. She also admitted she had a gambling problem and spent the money in slot machines.
TWIN FALLS, Idaho (AP) — Pulling off a smooth rescue along a steep and rocky canyon takes more than just a cool head. The Times-News reports that a rescue team in south-central Idaho conducts monthly training exercises to better respond to emergencies along the Snake River Canyon.
GLACIER NATIONAL PARK, Mont. (AP) — Evacuation levels in Glacier National Park are being downgraded as the weather improves and more firefighters arrive to battle the blaze. The fire along the west side of St. Mary Lake is now 20 percent contained. Some 570 firefighters are now on hand to battle the blaze, now estimated at about 5 square miles. A mandatory evacuation along the west shore of Lower St. Mary Lake has been downgraded to a warning.
