$1,500 reward in probe of Reno-Sparks bus window shootings

SPARKS, Nev. (AP) — Authorities are offering a $1,500 reward as Reno and Sparks police search for the suspect or suspects who've been shooting at Citifare buses with a pellet or BB gun.

Sparks Police Lt. Chad Hawkins said windows have been shot out on three buses in the past six days in Sparks. No injuries have been reported.

The most recent incident occurred just before midnight Wednesday near Fourth Street and Elko Avenue.

The Regional Transportation Commission says over the past four weeks, a total of 17 windows have been shot on a dozen different buses causing $20,000 in damage.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Sparks police at 775-331-2225 or Secret Witness at 775-322-4900. Secret Witness is offering the reward for information leading to the arrest and prosecution of a suspect.
