NEW YORK (AP) — The state environmental department has issued an air quality health advisory for the New York City area.
The advisory, which is in effect until 10 p.m., came amid Monday's scorching weather.
In addition to the city, the advisory includes Long Island, and Westchester and Rockland counties.
Active children and adults, and people with respiratory problems should avoid prolonged or heavy exertion outdoors.
