CHARDON, Ohio (AP) — Police say a 7-month-old baby was critically injured when she got caught in the middle of a dog fight in northeast Ohio.
The baby girl was being treated at a Cleveland hospital after the incident Monday night in Chardon. She was in serious condition Tuesday night.
The Northeast Ohio Media Group (http://bit.ly/1I0Rb1M ) reports the child was sitting on the living room floor when a fight broke out between two medium-sized dogs. At some point the baby got drawn into the fight, and dogs mauled her and bit her head and face. Their breeds were not known.
Police said the dogs had been together before. One of them belongs to the baby's mother. The other is owned by her boyfriend.
Charges are possible.
