EUGENE, Ore. (AP) — Three University of Oregon students managed to escape unharmed after a two-alarm fire broke out in a Eugene home.

The Register-Guard reports (http://bit.ly/1glS4FK ) Eugene Springfield Fire officials say the fire occurred Monday night in a three-story building. The fire appeared to be limited to the third floor and attic.

Student Jared Brandon said he had been making dinner when a passer-by knocked on the window and told him the house was on fire. Brandon said he grabbed his computer and a roommate's guitar and darted out of the house.

All occupants made it out of the house by the time crews arrived. The fire was controlled about 20 minutes later.

Battalion Chief Jeff Kronser said the students would be displaced for at least one night.
