BRUSSELS (AP) — European stock markets have opened solidly ahead of an emergency meeting of eurozone leaders in Brussels, where they'll discuss the financially-troubled Greece. Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras (TSEE'-pras) is expected to offer fresh proposals to the country's creditors so that he can receive the final installment of bailout funds to pay some of Greece's debt. Already, Greek's banks are closed and citizens are limited in the amount of money they can pull out of ATMs per day.
DENVER (AP) — A suburban Denver baker who refused to make a wedding cake for a gay couple in 2012 will argue his case before the Colorado Court of Appeals today. Baker Jack Phillips says his religious beliefs should protect him from sanctions against his business, Lakewood's Masterpiece Cakeshop. Charlie Craig and David Mullins wanted the wedding cake. Phillips is appealing an order that he make wedding cakes for gay couples or face fines.
PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Attorneys for comedian Bill Cosby have not responded to the release of a deposition in which Cosby admits giving sedatives to at least one of the women accusing him of sexual assault, as well as other unnamed people. The deposition was part of a lawsuit filed by a former Temple University employee who ended up settling with Cosby in 2006. Cosby, who's now 77, has been accused by more than two dozen women of sexual misconduct dating back more than four decades.
HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) — Charges are expected against a man in Connecticut who jumped off a bridge Sunday night with his 7-month-old son. Twenty-two-year-old Tony Moreno jumped into the Connecticut River, between Middletown and Portland Sunday night. A relative Moreno called before he jumped, phoned police, and firefighters pulled Moreno from the water. The child has not been found. The child's mother had sought a restraining order against Moreno.
PAMPLONA, Spain (AP) — Today was the first day of the running of the bulls in Pamplona, Spain. Local Red Cross workers say one person was gored and six others were injured as they joined thousands of daredevils dashing alongside fighting bulls through the streets of the northern Spanish city. The bull-run is part of Pamplona's annual San Fermin festival.
