MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (AP) — West Virginia University Dean of Students Corey Farris has added the title of associate university vice president.

Vice President of Student Life Bill Schafer says the new position is aimed at producing greater oversight of initiatives that will promote student growth and development at WVU.

In his new role, Farris will report directly to Schafer and will have oversight of several organizations. Among them are the Office of Greek Life, the Student Government Association and the newly formed Student Media, which includes the Daily Athenaeum newspaper and WWVU-FM.

Farris has served as dean of students since 2010.
