SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — Prosecutors have charged a Mexican immigrant with murder in the waterfront shooting death of a woman in San Francisco. Authorities say 45-year-old Francisco Sanchez will be arraigned Tuesday in the death of 32-year-old Kathryn Steinle (STYN'-lee). Sanchez was a repeat drug offender in the U.S. illegally and had been deported five times. He was out on the streets at the time of the killing because San Francisco officials had disregarded a request from immigration authorities to keep him locked up. The city's sanctuary law prevents city workers from cooperating with federal authorities on immigration cases.
LONDON (AP) — Britons are marking the 10th anniversary of suicide bomb attacks on London's transit system. In a statement, Prime Minister David Cameron says the recent slaying of 30 British tourists in Tunisia was a reminder that terror threats remain real and deadly. Four British men inspired by al-Qaida blew themselves up on three London subway trains and a bus during the morning rush hour on July 7th in 2005, killing 52 riders. Last month's gun rampage in the Tunisian resort of Sousse was the deadliest attack on Britons since then.

Eurozone leaders are gathering in Brussels Tuesday for an emergency summit on the situation.
