RENO, Nev. (AP) — Plumas County officials have discovered more than 6,000 marijuana plants near Antelope Lake.
KTVN-TV reports (http://bit.ly/1KvKPrv ) Sheriff Greg Hagwood says on Wednesday a raid team comprised of Plumas County SWAT, Forest Service law enforcement and Bureau of Land Management officials, recovered about 6,200 marijuana plants from the lake area. The plants ranged from six inches to three feet tall and were found in rugged terrain.
Officials say characteristics of the garden were consistent with those of large drug trafficking organizations operated by the Mexican drug cartel.
Deputies say they haven't located any suspects and an investigation is ongoing.
