PORTLAND, Maine (AP) — The University of Maine School of Law is getting a new dean this week.
Incoming Dean Danielle Conway is due to take over the post on Wednesday after current Dean Peter Pitegoff steps down.
Pitegoff, who has served 10 years, said in making his announcement that a change in leadership can be healthy for any institution and that "the timing is right for Maine Law to begin a new chapter." He'll remain as a faculty member.
Conway has spent more than a dozen years teaching law in Hawaii. She's coming from the William S. Richardson School of Law at the University of Hawaii at Manoa.
