MALONE, N.Y. (AP) — Helicopters, canines and hundreds of law enforcement officers are redoubling their efforts to hunt down the remaining convicted killer who escaped from a northern New York maximum security prison. David Sweat remains at large but Richard Matt, who escaped with Sweat, was shot and killed in the woods by a border patrol agent. Authorities say Matt had a shotgun and refused to obey police commands.

WASHINGTON (AP) — The north side of the White House is awash in the colors of the rainbow in acknowledgement of the Supreme Court decision Friday legalizing same-sex marriage. Gay and lesbian couples in Washington and across the nation are celebrating the ruling which ends same-sex marriage bans in the 14 states that still maintain them.

SOUSSE, Tunisia (AP) — A government official says the deadly attack at a Tunisian resort beach was carried out by a young student not previously known to authorities. Officials say the man opened fire on European sunbathers, killing at least 39 people in one of three deadly attacks Friday from Europe to North Africa to the Middle East that followed a call to violence by Islamic State extremists. The assailant was shot dead by police.

BEIJING (AP) — At least a dozen people in eastern China are dead in a highway crash. Authorities say a bus overturned on a highway and was hit by an oncoming truck. Another 24 people were injured. CHIMNEY ROCK, N.C. (AP) — Authorities say the anti-vaccine doctor who made the disputed claim that autism is caused by vaccines is dead of what authorities say is a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Officials say the body of Dr. Jeff Bradstreet was found by a fisherman in the Rocky Broad River in Chimney Rock, North Carolina on June 19. Authorities are still investigating. The medical community says his claims have been disproved.
