JUNEAU, Alaska (AP) — Alaska State Troopers say the pilot of a sightseeing plane that crashed in southeast Alaska was from Idaho. All nine people aboard the plane died.
Tentatively identified late Friday as the pilot was 64-year-old Bryan Krill of Hope, Idaho.
The DeHavilland DHC-3 Otter turboprop went down Thursday in Misty Fjords National Monument near Ketchikan.
A recovery crew reached the remote site Friday.
The Alaska state medical examiner's office will determine positive identifications.
Ketchikan-based airline Promech Air operated the shore excursion offered through Holland America Line. The eight passengers aboard the plane were traveling on the Westerdam on a seven-day cruise that had departed Seattle on June 20.
