RENO, Nev. (AP) — Reno Mayor Hillary Schieve (sheev-ee) will march in support of the U.S. Supreme Court's ruling declaring gay couples have right to marry across the country.

A march will begin at 7 p.m. Friday at the Washoe County Courthouse and end with a rally at Wingfield Park, where Schieve will speak.

She also plans to march in the San Francisco Pride Parade on Sunday along with Karen Vibe and Karen Goody, who were among eight couples whose lawsuit legalized same-sex marriage in Nevada.

Schieve, who signed onto a brief in support of gay marriage filed with the U.S. Supreme Court, says equality is a cause she strongly supports.

Supporters of the ruling also will gather for a rally at 5:30 p.m. Friday at the Gay and Lesbian Center in downtown Las Vegas.
