TUNIS, Tunisia (AP) — Tunisia's Interior Ministry says 27 people have been killed in today's attack on a beach resort. A ministry spokesman told the state news agency that one gunman was killed in an exchange of gunfire with security forces, and a second gunman is being sought. He describes the victims as mostly tourists.

KUWAIT CITY (AP) — The Islamic State group has claimed responsibility for a deadly explosion that struck a Shiite mosque in Kuwait's capital after Friday prayers. A paramedic and a human rights activist say that at least 16 people were killed and dozens have been wounded. A posting on a Twitter account known to belong to the Islamic State group said the attack was carried out by a suicide bomber wearing an explosive belt.

SAINT-QUENTIN-FALLAVIER, France (AP) — A French security official says the man whose severed head was found at the gate of an American gas factory after an attack today was a local businessman. Authorities say an attacker with suspected ties to French Islamic radicals rammed a car into the factory near Lyon (lee-OHN'), touching off an explosion. A decapitated body and flags with Arabic writing were found at the entrance.

CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) — In a somber procession, a hearse carrying the body of the Rev. Clementa (kleh-MEN'-tay) Pinckney has headed to a downtown arena in Charleston, South Carolina, for his funeral. Pinckney was the pastor of the church where he and eight others were shot dead last week. He was also a state senator. President Barack Obama is scheduled to deliver the eulogy.

DETROIT (AP) — U.S. safety regulators are investigating complaints that the power brake assist can fail on some Ford F-150 pickup trucks. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration says the probe covers about 250,000 pickups from the 2011 and 2012 model years with 3.5-liter six-cylinder turbocharged engines.
