COEUR D'ALENE, Idaho. (AP) — New charges including first-degree murder have been filed against a man arrested in the shooting death of Coeur d'Alene police Sgt. Greg Moore.

First District Magistrate Barry Watson agreed Wednesday to new charges filed by Kootenai County Prosecutor Barry McHugh, including first-degree murder, grand theft, two counts of unlawful possession of a firearm and removal of a firearm from a law enforcement officer.

The Spokesman-Review reports Jonathan Daniel Renfro is charged with shooting Moore as the officer questioned him early in the morning of May 5. Moore was shot in the face and died later that day at a hospital.

The 27-year-old Renfro has been held in the county jail since the shooting on $2 million bail on attempted murder charges. He has not entered a plea.
