POCATELLO, Idaho (AP) — The Pocatello City Council has swatted aside a request from Idaho State University, home of the Bengals, to spend about $10,000 to replace orange and black paw prints on streets.
The Idaho State Journal reports (http://bit.ly/1QGpYW5) that council members voted 4-2 on Thursday to reject paying to replace the large cat prints after the streets are seal coated this summer.
Councilors say the paw prints should be paid for with private donations, not city money.
Councilman Michael Orr voted against spending city money but says he'd be willing to donate $150 for a cat print he could sign his name on so "people could run over me."
The school told the city council it would pay for $9,000 of the estimated $19,000 cost.
