SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — A teenage girl has died and five passengers have been injured after the girl lost control of her SUV near Lehi.
Utah County sheriff's deputies responded to scene Thursday night.
The driver, 17-year-old Maryah Edwards, and four of the car's occupants were ejected from the vehicle when it rolled several times.
Edwards died at the scene. Two male teens were transported by ambulance to Intermountain Medical Center in Murray and two teen girls sustained minor injuries. Sheriff's Sgt. Spencer Cannon says 17-year-old Jayden Farrell was flown by helicopter to the hospital and is in critical condition.
Canon says evidence indicates the car had been driving 50 mph in a 20 mph zone when it crashed and rolled on the two-lane road.
