MEOW TOWN — People seem to fall into extreme camps of loving or hating cats. No matter what side you tend toward, there’s one thing we can all agree on: Cats are weird.
They malfunction when they hear sounds like this cat, they are unreasonably obsessed with cardboard boxes like these cats and sometimes normal cat behavior simply takes a weird turn like with this laser-chasing cat.
Frankly, cats are only made more weird by their different personalities, which brings me to this video. This video shows a more-than-averagely skittish cat as it hears the unnatural and seemingly unholy jumping sound effect from the Super Mario Bros. video game.
In the video, that cat’s owner cranks up the sound of the video game and calls the pretty ginger kitty into the room. The cat’s tail is puffed out, indicating it’s already freaked out by the underground theme music, but when the jumping sound effect comes into play, the cat can’t even handle it. You’ll just have to watch to see how much the cat can’t handle it.
Yes, I do feel a little sorry for the cat as its owner toys with it, but if that cat were a hair smarter, it might’ve thought to run from the room instead of sticking around to be continually tortured by a video game sound effect.
The video was originally posted in 2012, but it's currently having its heyday on the Internet.
