LAS VEGAS (AP) — A 25-year-old Las Vegas man is facing three to 10 years in state prison and sex offender registration after pleading guilty before trial to a felony sex trafficking charge.
State Attorney General Adam Laxalt announced Wednesday that Mario Lamont Jones II pleaded guilty Friday and admitted he enticed a woman to engage in prostitution on the Las Vegas Strip.
Kidnapping, living from the earnings of a prostitute and child abuse charges were dismissed.
Jones' defense attorney, Martin Hart, says Jones could have faced up to life in prison on the kidnapping and sex trafficking charges.
Clark County District Court Judge Eric Johnson scheduled sentencing July 14.
Prostitution is legal and licensed in some rural Nevada counties.
It's illegal in Clark County including Las Vegas, and Washoe County including Reno.
