ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) — Pulitzer Prize-winning author David McCullough is receiving an award at an event being held in downtown Albany.
McCullough will receive the 2015 Empire State Archives and History Award Wednesday night at the State Education Building. The award, sponsored by the New York State Archives Partnership Trust, is presented annually to nationally prominent individuals for their work in historic research or interpretation.
The Boston resident will be interviewed during the event by Harold Holzer, a leading authority on Abraham Lincoln and the Civil War.
McCullough won Pulitzers in 1992 for "Truman" and in 2001 for "John Adams." His most recent work, "The Wright Brothers," was released last month.
Past winners of the Empire State Archives and History award include actors Sam Waterston and Richard Defuses, historian Doris Kearns Goodwin and documentary filmmaker Ken Burns.
