HOOPER, Utah (AP) — Animal control officers and residents in Weber County helped pull a horse out of an 8-foot hole that had opened during a rainstorm.
Weber County animal services Lt. Chad Ferrin tells KSL-TV (http://bit.ly/1EWW8kq ) that neighbors had heavy-duty machinery and officers used straps to carefully hoist the horse out of the hole in Hooper Monday.
The horse, called Brutus, had his neck pinned to one side and had little visibility. The hole appeared to be a hollowed out 6-foot-wide corrugated pipe that a previous property owner had used to collect irrigation water. It was covered with plywood and sand.
Brutus was unharmed after removal.
