BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) — Former Baton Rouge teacher Ashley Dowden has been sentenced to seven years' probation for having sex with two male students.

Dowden also must register as a sex offender.

Nola.com/The Times-Picayune reports (http://bit.ly/1L6BwdY ) that East Baton Rouge Parish court records show Dowden entered into a plea debt with prosecutors to keep her out of prison.

The 43-year-old Dowden admitted in 2014 to having had sex with two boys, ages 16 and 18.

The former teacher is also not allowed to contact any of the victims or their families. In addition, Dowden will not be able to teach or volunteer around juveniles.

Dowden worked for Riverdale Christian from 2012 to 2014.

Prosecutors say the 16-year-old did not attend Riverdale when the other was a student there.
