SHAWNEE, Okla. (AP) — An Oklahoma man who admitted to strangling his stepfather by pulling his stepfather's underwear over his head has told a judge the case is "like a bad dream."

Brad Davis, 34, of McLoud pleaded guilty Monday to first-degree manslaughter in the 2013 death of 58-year-old Denver St. Clair, The Oklahoman (http://bit.ly/1K8hGCi ) reported.

A doctor who did the autopsy report said St. Clair died when the elastic band of his torn underwear was pulled over his head from behind and pressed against his neck, cutting off his airway.

Davis described the fight Wednesday at a hearing intended to help a judge decide what his sentence will be. His sentence hearing is set for July 16.

Davis told Pottawatomie County District Judge John G. Canavan Jr. that he knocked his stepfather unconscious before stretching the man's underwear as far up as he could.

"I never had any intention of killing that man," he said. "There's no way I ever thought that could have happened."

Davis said his stepfather was a bully and that he wanted to embarrass him. He also admitted to taking a picture of his stepfather after pulling his underwear over his head.
