HOUSTON (AP) — A man has been sentenced to 16 years in prison for a 2013 shooting at a Houston-area college campus that wounded three people.
Trey Foster was sentenced Wednesday in Houston after pleading guilty to aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in the shootings at a Lone Star College campus in Houston's northern suburbs. Foster, who's 25, could have gotten two to 20 years in prison.
Foster's attorney had asked for leniency, saying Foster had been shot in the face two years before and feared for his life.
The shooting happened after 25-year-old Jody Neal bumped into Foster, who was 22 then. The two men argued but went their separate ways, only to encounter each other 30 minutes later. They argued again and Foster shot Neal, also wounding two bystanders.
