VICKSBURG, Miss. (AP) — The Vicksburg Warren School District is looking for bus drivers to fill 11 open routes.
Transportation director Robert Bass tells The Vicksburg Post (http://bit.ly/1PgHIqg ) that most of the vacancies are due to retirement or health problems.
Bass says the work day is five to five-and-half hours depending on the length of a route. Starting pay is $11.50 per hour.
Bass says the district wants drivers to have a Class D commercial drivers' license with a passenger and school bus endorsement. He says a licensed instructor certifies applicants.
Bass said to be considered for the job, applicants cannot have had any speeding tickets for going more than 20 miles per hour over the speed limit within the past three years and they cannot have any felonies on their record.
