ROCHESTER HILLS, Mich. (AP) — The first class of medical school students at Oakland University is set to graduate this week.
The Detroit-area university says the Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine will have its first commencement ceremony Friday. Forty-seven students will get their degrees.
The medical school opened in 2011 and is a joint project of Oakland University and William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak. The university says it picked students for the charter class out of more than 3,200 applicants.
