CORVALLIS, Ore. (AP) — Officials at Oregon State University say McDonald Forest north of Corvallis does not pose special risk to pets and the area remains open to the public.
The Corvallis Gazette-Times reports (http://is.gd/Ja4npz) that researchers and veterinarians examined at least three cases, following public reports of dogs becoming sick after drinking water in the area.
They said Friday that they found no geographic link between cases and no consistent symptoms of illness. They also couldn't attribute the illnesses to any known toxin.
Veterinarians studied the reported cases following an email that circulated on social media last week. Although the email mentioned several possible causes and reported symptoms, the information was anecdotal.
