RENO, Nev. (AP) — Reno police have arrested two suspects in connection with the fatal beating of a 56-year-old Reno man over the weekend a few blocks southeast of downtown.

Officer Tim Broadway says 32-year-old George Hesse and 33-year-old Rodney Yahola were charged with battery with substantial battery harm. He said the investigation was continuing Wednesday and additional charges could be filed.

Broadway says the victim, Evan Traub, was covered in blood when officers responded to a report of a man down about 10:30 p.m. Saturday near Ryland Street and Wells Avenue west of Renown Regional Medical Center.

Traub was semi-conscious when paramedics transported him to the hospital with head injuries. He died a few days later.

The arrests were made after an officer recognized one of the suspects on surveillance tape at a nearby business.
