NEW YORK, Jul 6, 2006 (UPI via COMTEX) -- DC Comics has signed New York Times list best-selling author Jodi Picoult to write a five-issue series of "Wonder Woman" comics to be published next year.
Picoult's most recent novel, "The Tenth Circle," was No. 2 on the Times' best sellers list in March. Her story was about a comic book artist whose daughter is attacked and raped, The New York Times reported.
"When I was approached by DC, I was completely taken aback that they were even thinking of me," Picoult said. "It's completely an honor."
"Wonder Woman" has another high-profile writer in its newest comics series which began in May. Allan Heinberg, an "O.C." writer for Fox wrote the storyline for the current series, "Who is Wonder Woman?"
