RENO, Nev. (AP) — The Nevada Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal motorcycle crash on Interstate 80 on the edge of downtown Reno.
The patrol says the victim was a man in his mid-30s who died at the scene of the accident near the Virginia Street on-ramp to I-80 about 7:45 p.m. Monday. His name has not been released.
Trooper David Gibson said Tuesday the cause of the accident remains under investigation, but it appears speed may have been a factor.
Witnesses told investigators another was riding a second motorcycle next to the victim at the time of the accident, but wasn't involved with the crash.
Gibson says the other rider eventually returned to the scene and is cooperating with authorities.
