NORTH SALT LAKE, Utah (AP) — A welding shop fire injured no one but collapsed a roof in North Salt Lake early Monday.
The Deseret News reports (http://bit.ly/1EzhDfa) an early-morning passer-by reported the fire to police, who say it was likely caused by an "inappropriate use of extension cords."
South Davis Metro Fire Chief Jeff Bassett said firewalls kept the fire contained, and nearby businesses were mostly impacted by smoke and water damage.
The fire caused about $80,000 in damage and closed the road between Center Street and Interstate 25 for about two hours.
