RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) — The North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine has received a $16 million gift.

The university announced on Monday that the gift from the R.B. Terry Charitable Foundation will be used to support students and faculty as well as providing research endowments.

During his lifetime Terry, who died in 2004, chaired a campaign that raised $10 million for veterinary student education at North Carolina State.

Following his death, the Terry Foundation pledged $20 million to help build the Terry Companion Animal Veterinary Medical Center which opened four years ago,
