ST. GEORGE, Utah (AP) — More than 5.2 million people visited Utah's national parks in 2014 and they brought — and spent — lots of money with them.

The St. George Spectrum reports (http://bit.ly/1EngDLe ) that according to a study issued by the National Parks Services Thursday the visitors to Zion National Park, Bryce Canyon National Park, Cedar Breaks National Monument and Pipe Springs National Monument spent an estimated $336.8 million, supported 5,000 jobs, and brought $152.8 million in labor income.

The state is showing a 19 percent increase in visitor spending and an 11 percent in total visitors.

Local and statewide advertising campaigns have helped drive up tourism, especially in southwest Utah, where unusually warm weather made parks on pace in 2015 to break the visitation records they just set.
